The Chicago Blackhawks have struggled offensively in recent seasons, finishing in the bottom three of the NHL standings for two consecutive years.

Last season, they ranked dead last in goals per game (2.17) and near the bottom in total shots and shooting percentage, largely due to injuries and a lack of depth. Players like Taylor Hall and Andreas Athanasiou missed significant time, while Connor Bedard's fractured jaw took away their primary offensive weapon.
However, this offseason brought several key additions to improve the team's offensive output. The acquisitions of Tyler Bertuzzi, Teuvo Teravainen, and Ilya Mikheyev provide Bedard with much-needed support. A healthy Hall and Athanasiou will also bolster the team's attack. Last season's lack of shooting was a major concern, but with more skilled forwards in the lineup, the Blackhawks should generate more shots and higher-quality scoring chances.
The power play, which finished 28th in the league (16.6%), is another area ripe for improvement. Connor Bedard's chemistry with Philipp Kurashev showed glimpses of potential, and with young players like Kevin Korchinski and Frank Nazar possibly stepping into larger roles, the team could see an uptick in their powerplay efficiency.
Overall, the Chicago Blackhawks' offence should be more dynamic and competitive, with increased depth making them less predictable and harder to defend. With a healthier roster and new talent, the team is poised for a significant improvement heading into the 2024-25 season.
