Preseason buzz: Blackhawks players gear up for 2024-25 season

Defenseman Alex Vlasic, fresh off a breakout year, is focused on adding offense to his game, working on his slap shot to become a bigger threat from the blue line. Meanwhile, prospect Frank Nazar, who scored his first NHL goal last season, is determined to earn a full-time spot on the roster. His offseason focus has been on puck handling and skating, inspired by training with former Blackhawks star Patrick Kane.

However, fellow prospect Artyom Levshunov has suffered a setback, missing the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase due to a foot injury. Despite this, optimism remains high for the talented young defenseman.

Ethan Del Mastro, an AHL All-Star, also looks forward to another strong season with the Rockford IceHogs, while newly drafted AJ Spellacy's speed and compete level have caught the attention of coaches.
