Kirby Dach, the former Chicago Blackhawks winger, missed nearly the entire 2023-2024 season due to ACL and MCL injuries.

As he returns to the ice for the 2024-2025 season, he'll aim to regain his form, and with new teammates like Patrik Laine and Alex Newhook in Montreal, Dach could be part of a dynamic offensive unit.
This is great news for head coach Martin St. Louis, whose revamped second line can potentially elevate the Canadiens' competitiveness. In the 2022-2023 season, Dach played 58 games, registering 38 points (14 G, 24 A) - his best season yet.
After being selected 3rd overall by the Blackhawks in the 2019 NHL Draft, Dach's future was filled with promise, though injuries have slowed his development. Now, as he looks to make an impact with Montreal, fans hope Dach can avoid being labeled a bust like Kaapo Kakko and instead blossom into the player he was projected to be.
The third player taken in the 2019 draft was in the NHL as an 18-year-old and shows increasing flashes of why he was so highly regarded as he moves into his early 20s. He is big, skates well and is strong on the puck, a trait that should get even better as he matures. Is an excellent passer but must learn to take more shots in order to keep opponents from dropping off him in coverage. Has been plagued by injuries, including a broken wrist.
