The Chicago Blackhawks are gearing up for their second season with Connor Bedard, and GM Kyle Davidson is focused on deepening the team to push for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot.

Andreas Athanasiou and Alec Martinez are two players to watch on the trade market.
Athanasiou, who struggled last season with only two goals and nine points in 28 games, could be on the move despite his speed and potential for secondary scoring. His $4.25 million AAV and lack of trade protection make him a prime candidate for teams looking to bolster their forward depth, especially if Chicago isn't in playoff contention.
Martinez, a seasoned defenseman with three Stanley Cup wins, is also in trade discussions. Signed to a one-year deal without trade protection, Martinez could be a valuable asset for playoff-bound teams needing experience on its blue line. If the Blackhawks fall short of a playoff berth, expect Davidson to entertain offers for the veteran defenseman as the trade deadline approaches.
