Three Cape Breton Eagles hockey players were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Monday while traveling on Highway 104 to Cape Breton.

The team announced that players Angelo Fullerton, Lucas Romeo, and Brayden Schmitt were involved in the accident and were taken to St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish.
Fullerton and Romeo were released from the hospital on Monday night after receiving treatment for their injuries. Schmitt, however, was admitted for overnight observation as medical staff monitored his condition. The team expects Schmitt to be released in the coming days, reassuring fans that none of the players sustained serious injuries.
"This was a scary situation of course, but as an organization, we are relieved no one got seriously hurt," said Sylvain Couturier in a news release.

He also expressed gratitude that no one else involved in the crash was seriously injured and thanked the hospital staff and first responders for their prompt and effective care. The Eagles and their fans are thankful for the positive outcomes and look forward to the players' recovery.
