The Chicago Blackhawks are preparing for another challenging season in the highly competitive Central Division.

With teams like the Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche, and Winnipeg Jets poised to contend for the Stanley Cup, the Blackhawks have a tough road ahead in 2024-25. Despite making significant offseason additions, including Tyler Bertuzzi and Teuvo Teravainen, the team is still in a rebuilding phase and not quite ready to compete with the division's elite.
The Central Division is packed with talent. The Dallas Stars boast a Vezina-caliber goalie in Jake Oettinger and a Norris-caliber defenseman in Miro Heiskanen, while the Avalanche remain dangerous with Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar. Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets, with two-time Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck, are a dark horse.
For the Blackhawks, expectations remain tempered. With young star Connor Bedard leading the way, the team is exciting but still likely to finish near the bottom of the standings. Another year of development-and possibly another high draft pick-could be the best outcome for their long-term success.
