Former Chicago Blackhawks forward Jujhar Khaira has reached a new low in his career, signing with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch.

The 30-year-old winger appeared in just one game for the Minnesota Wild last season before being sent down to their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild. He posted 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) throughout the season.

Throughout his career, Khaira has played 337 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Minnesota Wild, averaging 80 points (33 goals, 47 assists). Despite his early promise, he has spent significant time in the AHL, playing 155 games and accumulating 75 points (27 goals, 48 assists) across stints with teams like the Bakersfield Condors, Oklahoma City Barons and Iowa Wild.
Originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 3rd round (63rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Khaira's career has been a mix of NHL and AHL play. His most recent NHL campaign with the Blackhawks in 2022-23 saw him score 14 points (6 goals, 8 assists) in 51 games.
Now with Syracuse, Khaira will be looking for a fresh start to revive his career in the AHL and hope to climb back into the NHL ranks.
