In an emotional announcement from the Colorado Avalanche, Andrew Cogliano has decided to hang up his skates after an illustrious career spanning nearly 1,300 games in the National Hockey League.
Drafted 25th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2005, Cogliano's nearly 1,300-game career was distributed among some of the NHL's notable teams, including the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, and Dallas Stars.

Just shy of the 1,300-game milestone by six games, Cogliano's career stats boast 190 goals and 274 assists. Including his playoff performances, which add another 131 games where he scored 13 goals and contributed 27 assists, his on-ice prowess was undeniable.
Known for his special performances during the postseason, his legacy will continue to influence the sport, especially now that he transitions into a new role within the Avalanche organization.
