With Nick Robertson re-signing, the Toronto Maple Leafs are poised to make another key addition. NHL insider Darren Dreger reports that veteran forward Max Pacioretty is expected to sign with the team ahead of training camp.

The 35-year-old, boasting 330 career NHL goals, adds significant depth to the Leafs' left wing. Pacioretty, along with Robertson, will bolster the left side, potentially competing for top-six roles if they impress in camp.
Max Pacioretty has faced tough battles over the last three seasons, with two Achilles injuries limiting his play to just five games in the 2022-23 season. Despite these setbacks, he is determined to regain his scoring form and contribute more consistently on the ice.
In addition to Max Pacioretty, the long-awaited signing of defenseman Jani Hakanpaa is also anticipated. Standing at 6'7", Hakanpaa's size and physical play will bring added strength to Toronto's blue line, assuming his knee injury doesn't hold him back. His shot-blocking and physicality could be crucial for the Leafs' defense this season.
