According to an affidavit, Hart was denied entry into the United States due to a criminal charge against him. He has since hired an immigration lawyer to handle the situation. Still, his plans to relocate from Alberta to Tennessee to train with a former professional hockey player have been halted.
Carter Hart, a former second-round pick by the Flyers in 2016, last played in the NHL during the 2022-23 season, where he posted a record of 12-9-3 with a .906 save percentage and a 2.80 goals-against average. However, after the allegations came to light, the Flyers placed him on a leave of absence.
The affidavit, part of the ongoing legal process, also includes statements from Hart and four other players involved, expressing doubts about their ability to resume professional hockey careers. They have applied to skip non-essential court hearings to focus on work or training elsewhere.
