The Pittsburgh Penguins have made a significant addition to their broadcast team by announcing Joe Brand as the new radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Penguins Radio Network.

Brand, who previously spent three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks on WGN 720 AM, will now call all Penguins regular season and playoff games. He will be joined by two-time Stanley Cup champion and color analyst Phil Bourque.
Penguins Senior Vice President of Marketing, Terry Acklin, expressed excitement about the new addition, stating, «We are excited to welcome Joe Brand to the Penguins family and introduce him to the best fans in hockey. The Penguins have been fortunate to have some of the best voices to ever call the game sit in that chair, and we look forward to Joe making his own mark here in Pittsburgh.»
Brand's departure is a significant loss for Chicago, where he hosted pre-game, intermission, and post-game shows, as well as "Blackhawks Live." He also filled in for regular-season play alongside legends like Chris Chelios and Troy Murray. In addition to his hockey work, Brand was a familiar voice for Chicago White Sox games on ESPN 1000 WMVP, hosting pre-and post-game shows.
Brand's move to Pittsburgh marks the end of an era in Chicago radio broadcasting, as yet another beloved voice departs the Windy City.
