The Chicago Blackhawks made significant moves this offseason, positioning themselves to be more competitive in the 2024-25 NHL season.

However, some players on the roster might face a regression due to reduced roles or declining performance. Here are three players expected to see a dip in production:
Nick Foligno
Foligno was an important veteran presence for the Blackhawks last season, scoring 17 goals and 37 points in 74 games while playing nearly 18 minutes per game. However, with the influx of younger talent, Foligno will likely see less ice time and potentially be relegated to a fourth-line role. He will unlikely replicate his previous offensive totals with reduced minutes unless unforeseen circumstances give him a larger role.
T.J. Brodie
Brodie, brought in to solidify the Blackhawks' defence, had a solid, if unspectacular, season in Toronto, contributing 26 points while averaging 22 minutes per game. At 34, Brodie is expected to drop to a third-pairing role with Chicago, meaning less ice time and likely fewer opportunities to impact the game offensively. While he will still provide defensive stability, his days as a top-4 defenseman are behind him.
Pat Maroon
Maroon, known for his physicality and playoff experience, struggled to make an impact for the Bruins last season, recording just two assists in 13 playoff games. At 36 years old, his declining speed and the league's increasing emphasis on pace make it unlikely that he will see significant playing time. With younger players pushing for spots, Maroon's production will likely continue diminishing, and his role will be limited.
While these players bring valuable experience and leadership, their contributions on the scoresheet are expected to decline as Chicago focuses on developing younger talent.
