The Boston Bruins have officially signed Tyler Johnson, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO).

Announced by General Manager Don Sweeney, this signing gives Johnson a chance to showcase his skills in training camp and potentially earn a spot on the Bruins' regular-season roster. The 34-year-old center, standing at 5'8", has had a notable career despite going undrafted, accumulating 431 points over 738 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks.
Johnson played a pivotal role in the Lightning's back-to-back Stanley Cup victories and demonstrated his offensive capabilities last season with 17 goals and 14 assists alongside Connor Bedard in Chicago. As the Bruins aim to strengthen their center depth following the retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, Johnson's experience and versatility could provide the team with valuable depth. After already acquiring Elias Lindholm in the offseason, the addition of Johnson might just be what the Bruins need to solidify their lineup for the upcoming season.
