The NHL is in deep mourning after the tragic loss of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau.

His close friend and former Calgary Flames teammate, Sean Monahan, had recently expressed excitement about reuniting with Gaudreau in Columbus.
The duo, known as the "Johnny and Monny line," shared a strong bond both on and off the ice. Monahan spoke about their sons growing up together, highlighting their deep friendship. Gaudreau's sudden passing has left the hockey community in shock, as fans and players grapple with the devastating loss of a beloved player and friend.
"Johnny's one of my best friends, to go full circle, kinda start when I was 18-19, with him. To go back and be able to play with him again is pretty cool, I mean, we both have sons that are two-three months apart, so they get to kinda grow up together. Just an an awesome all around guy, great dad, great friend an obviously a special player"
