Edmonton Oilers GM Stan Bowman recently addressed the departure of key players Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway to the St. Louis Blues via offer sheets.

St. Louis Blues signed the restricted free agents to two-year deals-Philip Broberg for $4.58 million per year and Dylan Holloway for $2.29 million. Stan Bowman, speaking to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, downplayed any tension between him and Blues GM Doug Armstrong, stating there's no bad blood despite the outcome.
«Doug is a bright guy and a good person. I've known him a long time, and I don't have any issues with him,» Bowman said, emphasizing that, in the NHL, GMs sometimes have to make tough decisions that benefit their teams.

Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway were integral to the Oilers' Game 7 playoffs run last season and were expected to play key roles moving forward. However, they chose to sign with the St. Louis Blues for better financial terms. Doug Armstrong also commented, acknowledging his good relationship with Stan Bowman and reiterating that it's just part of the business, with both GMs doing what was best for their respective teams.
Stan Bowman, though disappointed, understood the move as part of the NHL's competitive nature.
