Danny Parkins bids farewell to Chicago, heads to new opportunities at FS1.

Chicago sports radio is about to witness a significant change as Danny Parkins, a key voice on 670 The Score's "Parkins and Spiegel Show," is set to leave his familiar spot for a new role at Fox Sports One.

This shift comes amid speculations about the fortunes of Chicago's sports teams.
With the Bears showing potential for a Super Bowl run under Caleb Williams, the Cubs eyeing another World Series title, and the White Sox hoping to avoid a dismal season, Parkins' departure has sparked discussions about the end of the so-called "Parkins Curse."
Parkins confirmed on Tuesday, as reported by the Sun-Times, that he would be leaving his afternoon radio show, although he has not publicly disclosed his exact future role.
However, it is known that he will be joining FS1, relocating to New York from Chicago. His last show had a "New York, New York" theme, focusing significantly on Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, highlighting his upcoming shift in focus.
Starting Wednesday, FS1 has slated Parkins to co-host a new morning sports-talk show, marking a significant transition in his career.
During his farewell announcement, Parkins shared his emotional journey, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to say goodbye:
«This is, incredibly emotional for me and has happened very, very fast,» he said. «I wish I could have given a little bit more public notice. But trust me, it's happened incredibly fast in my personal life also. I'm grateful that we get a goodbye show because I truly love what Spiegs, Tanney, Shane, and myself have created in the afternoons. This is a life-changing opportunity for me and my family and so I don't leave here lightly.»
Parkins originally joined 670 The Score in 2017 after leaving Kansas City. Known for his vibrant and humorous personality, he quickly became a staple of Chicago sports radio.
Over the years, he has expanded his portfolio, contributing to NFL discussions on Audacy, hosting a Cubs TV show on Marquee Sports Network, and even authoring a book on the impact of Division III on the NBA.
Reflecting on his unexpected career trajectory, Parkins shared:
«I thought I was going to be here for 25 years,» he admitted on air. «I can pass a lie detector test on that. Maybe it was from insecurity or self-deprecation - it wasn't for lack of ambition or belief in my talent - but I didn't really think this was going to be possible for me.»

With his departure, fans are left to wonder if the absence of any major Chicago sports victories since the Cubs' 2016 World Series win might see a turnaround.
As Parkins embarks on his new journey in New York, only time will tell if the legendary "Parkins Curse" will be lifted, potentially heralding a new era of success for Chicago sports.
