Patrick Kane continues with Detroit Red Wings, credits broadcaster for decision.

In a move that solidifies his future in Detroit, former Chicago Blackhawks standout Patrick Kane has chosen to extend his stay with the Detroit Red Wings.
His decision, announced during a recent media interaction, has sparked considerable interest, not least because of the unusual reason behind itveteran broadcaster Ken Daniels.
Kane shared his appreciation for Daniels, whose energetic game calls have left a lasting impression on him.
« Looking back at some of the moments (last season) and some of the calls that Ken Daniels had, I can watch those clips for the rest of my life," said Kane. "The calls he had on some of the goals I scored, those are moments that give you chills. You want to create more of those. »

Daniels, a fixture in the Red Wings' broadcasting booth since 1997, has become synonymous with the team's most memorable moments, partnering with Mickey Redmond to capture the action on the ice.
Kane's career trajectory has been anything but ordinary. After an unsuccessful stint with the New York Rangers aimed at capturing the Stanley Cup, he underwent hip resurfacing surgery in the summer of 2023, sidelining him for several months.
His recovery, significantly faster than anticipated, led to a flurry of interest from several NHL teams as he announced his return to the league. Ultimately, it was the presence of former Blackhawks teammate Alex DeBrincat in Detroit that played a pivotal role in his decision to join the Red Wings.
« For me, my heart was set on Detroit and coming back to Detroit I thought the fans really embraced me too,» which he values in context to his many years with division rival Chicago. #LGRW »

Kane's impact was nearly immediate, bringing the Red Wings to the brink of the playoffs in game 82 of the last season. His decision to stay is seen as a commitment to bring more such thrilling moments to Detroit, a sentiment warmly received by the fans and the team alike.
While the Blackhawks have transitioned to a younger roster, pushing out long-time voices like Pat Foley, Kane's narrative continues to intertwine legacy and renewal.
As Detroit gears up for what may be a pivotal season, the hockey world will be watching closely, not just for the plays on the ice, but for the stories that unfold off it. Time, as always, will tell how this storied franchise will fare, but with Kane on their side, the Red Wings seem poised for exciting days ahead.
