Filip Zadina, once a highly-touted prospect as the 6th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, has decided to take his talents overseas.

After six seasons in the NHL, Zadina has signed a two-year contract with HC Davos in Switzerland, leaving behind interest from multiple teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens. The 24-year-old winger struggled to meet expectations during his time in the NHL, splitting his first five seasons with the Detroit Red Wings before spending last year with the San Jose Sharks.
Despite showing flashes of his potential, Zadina's NHL career has been marked by inconsistency, recording only 41 goals and 91 points across 262 games, with a concerning plus/minus rating of -95. The move to Europe could provide a fresh start and an opportunity for Zadina to regain his confidence and develop his game further in a different environment. HC Davos, a prominent team in the Swiss National League, will be hoping Zadina's talent and experience can add a new dimension to their roster for the upcoming seasons.
