Nikita Zaitsev bids farewell to NHL, joins SKA St. Petersburg for new challenges.

In a significant shift on the ice, former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Nikita Zaitsev has left the NHL to return to his native Russia, signing a four-year contract with SKA St. Petersburg.
This move marks the end of an extensive eight-season stint in the NHL for Zaitsev, during which he showcased his skills across several teams, culminating in his final season with the Blackhawks.

During his last NHL season, Zaitsev appeared in 38 games for the Blackhawks, adding 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) to his resume.
His move follows the expiration of his substantial contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, originally valued at $31.5 million.
