Final decision made on Humboldt Broncos truck driver who hit bus

The driver, Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, now faces deportation back to India six years later, as ruled by the federal immigration office.
'Jaskirat Singh Sidhu's lawyer did not contest the decision, noting the official had «limited discretion», because all that is required to deport Sidhu is proof he is not a Canadian citizen and has committed a serious crime.'

A permanent resident is someone who has been given permanent resident status in Canada but is not yet a Canadian citizen. Sidhu became a permanent resident a month before the crash that left 16 people dead and 13 others injured.'
The 2018 crash resulted in the deaths of 16 people and left 13 others with serious injuries, casting a long-lasting shadow over the hockey community. Since the investigation launched in 2018, Sidhu's case has been under continuous legal scrutiny, leading to this final ruling.
