Patrick Kane's return to Chicago becomes major possibility

After being traded to the New York Rangers, Kane's next move could bring him back to the Windy City.
Chicago Blackhawks reporter Scott Powers, a credentialed journalist with TheAthletic, has revealed that the team's front office will likely hold internal discussions over the next few weeks regarding re-signing Kane.
I was confident they weren't going to re-sign him last summer. Up until a few weeks ago. I've heard enough in the past few weeks to believe that the Blackhawks are going to at least internally discuss whether to re-sign Kane.

I'm sure he'd like to make a run at Stan Mikita's franchise points record (Kane needs 242 points to match Mikita) or be in a Blackhawks jersey as he goes after Mike Modano's career numbers as the top U.S.-born player.

Added Powers
Currently a free agent after completing a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings, Kane is reportedly open to returning to Chicago if offered by general manager Kyle Davidson, according to Powers.
The Blackhawks ensured Kane's departure was as smooth as possible, keeping the door open for a potential return.
This foresight appears to be paying off as rumors swirl about his comeback.
The prospect of seeing Connor Bedard and Patrick Kane together in the 2024-25 season is thrilling for fans.
It could bring a new dynamic to the team, blending the excitement of a new star with the legendary presence of Kane.
