Blackhawks Bedard faces backlash from Canadian fans

The young star was confined to a mere 8 minutes of playtime and was conspicuously absent from the overtime action in Team Canada's latest matchup.
"Not totally sure what's going on with Connor Bedard, who played just 8:08 today and nothing in OT. Just 10 shifts."
This remark by Steven Ellis, a prominent hockey journalist, encapsulates the confusion and speculation swirling around Bedard's limited involvement.
Speculations from fans offer some potential explanations for this decision. One fan suggested,
disciplinary measures for the bad Ozone penalty probably?
Others pointed to a lack of effort on defensive transitions:
During one shift, he didn't care to backcheck and went to the bench slowly... not interested,
and questioned his readiness for the senior level:
He's not good enough in a men's tournament as an 18-year-old? Big ice and all that.

Criticism of Bedard's performance was also noted, with a fan commenting,
He's been terrible.

Trying to do too much. Results in turnovers constantly. He is fixated on finding a good shot that he's gotten tunnel vision and isn't even seeing his wide open teammates.

As Team Canada progresses through the tournament, all eyes will be on Bedard to see if he can adjust his game and regain the trust of his coach.
The hope is that this benching serves as a learning experience for the young player, enabling him to enhance his performance and contribute more effectively to his team's efforts.
