Beckett Sennecke, who shocked the hockey world when the Anaheim Ducks selected him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, has hit an early roadblock in his NHL journey.

The 18-year-old forward suffered a fractured foot, ruling him out for six to eight weeks and delaying his first rookie camp with the Ducks. Sennecke was poised to build on an incredible OHL season with the Oshawa Generals, where he tallied 27 goals and 68 points in 63 games and added another 22 points in 16 playoff games.
Initially, it appeared the foot issue was minor, but it turned out to be more serious than anticipated. This setback will keep Sennecke out of action until at least November, impacting both his OHL and NHL prospects this year. Despite the injury, Sennecke's long-term potential remains bright, and fans are eager to see him return to form.
