Jessica Campbell breaks new ground with Seattle Kraken.

In a historic move, Jessica Campbell has been appointed as a coach for the Seattle Kraken, becoming the first woman to hold such a position in the NHL.
This milestone is part of her trailblazing journey in ice hockey, which previously saw her become the first female coach in the AHL with the Coachella Valley Firebirds in 2022.
The Firebirds serve as the Kraken's affiliate team, where Campbell honed her coaching skills under Dan Bylsma's guidance.
Veteran defenseman Chris Tanev, aged 32, expressed his enthusiasm and support for Campbell's latest achievement.
« Yeah, that's such an amazing moment for her. She's been in Coachella for the last two years with Dan (Bylsma) and been part of his staff. Obviously, she deserves to be, where she is, and that's amazing growth for the game. We are all super excited to have her behind our bench and listen and learn from her. Have her knowledge that she brings to the game to us. »

The Seattle Kraken, who have faced challenges in recent seasons after a promising playoff appearance in their inaugural 2021-22 season, are looking to Campbell to inject fresh energy and strategic insight into the team.
The organization and its fans are hopeful that her leadership will catalyze a return to playoff contention, leveraging her unique perspective and coaching acumen to revitalize the team's performance.
