Chicago Blackhawks strengthen their coaching ranks with key addition to AHL team

In a strategic move to bolster their defensive coaching ranks, the Chicago Blackhawks have appointed Josh MacNevin as the new assistant coach for their AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs.

With a robust background in coaching despite never making his mark as a player in the NHL, MacNevin brings a wealth of experience to Rockford. His career began in earnest after being drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 1996.

Although he didn't lace up for an NHL game, MacNevin's journey didn't stall; he transitioned into coaching, where he truly made his presence felt.

Over the past decade, he has shaped young talent in the Western Hockey League, dedicating seven seasons to the Lethbridge Hurricanes before a notable three-year stint with the Kelowna Rockets.
