Chicago Blackhawks begin preparations for Tom Kurvers prospect showcase

This annual event is a chance to see future stars in action, though Chicago received some bad news with top prospect Artyom Levshunov missing the showcase due to a right foot injury. Coach Anders Sorensen said Artyom Levshunov is not expected to be out long term.

Despite Levshunov's absence, attention will be on other top prospects, especially Frank Nazar. Drafted 13th overall in 2022, Nazar had a stellar season at the University of Michigan, posting 41 points in 41 games. After joining the Blackhawks for three NHL games late last season,Frank Nazar aims to secure a spot on the team, possibly as the second-line center.

This showcase and training camp provide Frank Nazar with a crucial opportunity to impress. IceHogs coach Sorensen praised his performance in practice, emphasizing the importance of his development leading up to the season.
