Frank Nazar's triumphant return to the ice after hip surgery.
From hobbling on crutches to skating in the NHL, Frank Nazar's journey post-hip surgery is nothing short of remarkable.
Selected 13th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2022, Nazar faced a daunting recovery but managed to make a significant impact both at the World Juniors Championship and during his brief stint in the NHL last season.
"I feel way better than I did last year," Nazar revealed on Sunday. "Obviously, coming back from missing a lot of time is pretty hard, especially coming back during playoffs. I luckily had a good crew here that helped me keep my confidence up and help me get back, and I'm thankful for everybody to help me do that. "
Despite the challenges, Nazar's resilience shone through.
" Every day I think about (the injury)," he shared. "It just makes me come to the rink hungrier and just knowing that (I) never know what's gonna happen. So I just make sure (I'm) getting ready for the ice and warming up really well and when (I) go out there just make the most of it. "
Nazar's brief appearance in the NHL was a testament to his determination and skill, leaving fans eager for more after he scored his first goal on his very first shot.
As the new season approaches, the question remains: will Nazar begin the year in the AHL or has he secured his spot on the NHL roster?
With his early adversities now behind him, Nazar's future with the Blackhawks looks promising as both the player and team aim for a successful season ahead.
