Artyom Levshunov, the Chicago Blackhawks' No. 2 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, is not feeling the pressure that typically comes with being a high draft pick.

Instead, the 18-year-old defenseman is focused on playing his game and contributing to the team's future. Levshunov, who had an impressive freshman season at Michigan State with 35 points in 38 games, is expected to be a key piece in Chicago's rebuild alongside Calder Trophy winner Connor Bedard.
Artyom Levshunov's size (6-foot-2, 208 pounds), skating, and two-way game make him one of the most NHL-ready players from his draft class. Chicago Blackhawks assistant GM Mark Eaton praised Artyom Levshunov's 200-foot game and desire to be a difference-maker. The two have already begun building a relationship. Artyom Levshunov is eager to complement Connor Bedard on the ice, looking forward to how their skills can elevate each other's performances.
"He texted me during [Blackhawks] development camp, just asked how the camp was going," Levshunov said. "We tried to be in touch during the summer. When he had his birthday [July 17], I texted him and said, 'Happy birthday.' Just tried to be in touch."

Artyom Levshunov spent the offseason training in North America and is committed to transitioning to pro hockey. His debut season in Chicago is expected to be pivotal for both him and the team's future.
